Edelweiss Lodge and Resort recently announced that they have expanded their accommodations to active-duty military service members, retirees and civilian/military ID cardholders living outside Europe. Previously you could only stay there if you were stationed there.

Edelweiss has now received permission from the U.S. Army Europe and the Federal Republic of Germany and military members and retirees from outside the country can now stay on a limited basis.

If you’re not familiar with DOD resorts, they are also known as “Armed Forces Recreation Centers” and are located in popular vacations for military, such as Disney World, Hawaii, Europe and South Korea. They are ran by the U.S. Army Installation Command. They offer lodging rates based on service members rank and other perks such as attraction ticket deals and no tax.

Availibility for visitors outside of Europe are limited at Edelweiss and they encourage guests to book as early as possible.

You can make reservations starting June 3rd and learn more details here.
