- Active-duty U.S. military personnel (with valid I.D.) may board between the A and B groups on Southwest Airlines flights.
- Active Duty military customers have an exemption from the two-piece baggage limit. They do not have to pay any fees for excess, oversize, or overweight baggage charges, as long as the pieces weigh no more than 100 pounds each and measure 80 inches or less.
- You can’t use Rapid Rewards points to purchase Government and Military fares from Southwest. You must buy tickets through an authorized travel management system, travel agency, or commercial travel office, or call the Southwest Government Reservation Desk.
- Southwest allows military working dogs to travel with a trained handler. Law enforcement and search and rescue dogs can also travel free when accompanied by a mission letter and certification.
